Book launch March 2013

Lismullin is the best known site of the 167 excavated during the recent M3 Motorway construction. Consisting of an 80m diameter circle of wooden posts built during the Iron Age it probably functioned as an enclosure for ceremonies and rituals. The evidence points to a spectaclular nocturnal ritual with the site aligned to the Pleiades star cluster.

Aidan O’ Connell is the author and the book will be launched in March by Sir Barry Cunliffe of Oxford University.

TY work experience

Ciaran recently completed two weeks of work experience, working on finds preperation for the museum, research in the National Archives, the excavation database and AutoCad figure production during his time with us. Ciaran was a great addition to the company during his time here and has the makings of a fine archaeologist.
